House League

Welcome to Brantford CYO Girls Basketball House League.

Time: Saturdays

Brantford CYO Girls House League is a grassroots, recreational program that focuses on the skill development and empowerment of youth between the ages of 5 and 15 years old. This recreational House League program has over 375 players and volunteers that participated in the 2010 – 2011 season. The program aligns itself with sound research in the area of growth and development, and follows Basketball Ontario Mega Hoops skill development. In our House League Program every girl is important and will receive positive encouragement, regardless of their ability.

The objectives of the House League Program are to:

  • Promote fun, friendships and fitness
  • Teach basketball skills in a progressive and consistent manner
  • Teach youth the values, qualities and skills that are required to succeed on and off the court
  • Exposure to competition, fair play and sportsmanship
  • Involve and develop the skills of coaches, volunteers, officials and parents within our Brantford Community
  • Build character, self esteem, self awareness and memories to last a life time

House League teams play from September to February with Playoffs at the end of the season.
The season wraps up with a Year End Recognition Event.

The cost is $ 95 per player, families with two or more children will receive discounts.

  • Rookie (5-7 year olds)
  • Novice (8&9 year olds)
  • Atom (10&11 year olds)
  • Bantam (12&13 year olds)
  • Midget (14 & 15 year olds)

Rookie Girls Basketball

  • Ages: 5-7 years old
  • Time: TBA for Saturday mornings
  • Location: Assumption College School, 257 Shellard Lane, Brantford
  • Cost: $ 95 (includes: uniform top, photo, yearbook and Recognition Event)
  • Focus: Fun and participation, implementation of Basic FUNdamentals
  • No formal competition

Novice Girls Basketball

  • Ages: 8-9 years old
  • Time: TBA for Saturday mornings
  • Location: Assumption College School, 257 Shellard Lane, Brantford
  • Cost: $ 95 (includes: uniform top, photo, yearbook and Recognition Event)
  • Focus: FUNdamentals of Basketball
  • Formal competition is introduced with guidance from volunteer coaches.

Atom Girls Basketball

  • Ages: 10-11 years old
  • Time: TBA for  Saturdays
  • Location: Assumption College School, 257 Shellard Lane, Brantford
  • Cost: $ 95 (includes: reversible jersey, photo, yearbook and Recognition Event)
  • Focus: Basic skill development and equal participation.
  • Each session involves 20 minutes of skill work and 40 minutes of game play with student referees and guidance from volunteer coaches.

Bantam Girls Basketball

  • Ages: 12-13 years old
  • Time: TBA for Saturday afternoons
  • Location: Assumption College School, 257 Shellard Lane, Brantford
  • Cost: $95 (includes reversible jersey, yearbook and Recognition Event)
  • Focus: Basic skill development and equal participation
  • Each session involves 20 minutes of skill work and 40 minutes of game play with student referees and guidance from volunteer coaches.

NEW MIDGET GIRLS BASKETBALL      


  • 14 & 15 year old girls
  • Time: TBA for  Saturdays
  • Location: Assumption College School, 257 Shellard Lane, Brantford
  • Cost: $ 95 (includes: reversible jersey, photo, yearbook and Recognition Event)
  • Focus: Basketball games, liesure and competition
  • This age group does not participate in the first 3 weeks of skill development
